The Three Questions Every Muslim Should Know One of the most important lessons a Muslim can learn is the answer to the three questions that every person will be asked in the grave. These questions are not simply matters of memorisation; they are questions that reflect a person's faith, beliefs and way of life.
1. Who is Your Lord?
The believer answers: My Lord is Allah. Allah is the Creator, Sustainer and Master of everything that exists. He alone deserves our worship, reliance and obedience. Knowing Allah is the foundation of faith and is achieved through learning His names, attributes and signs in creation.
2. What is Your Religion? The believer answers: My religion is Islam. Islam is complete submission to Allah through worship, obedience and sincerity. It is a way of life that guides us in our relationship with Allah, our families, our communities and ourselves. Every act of worship, from prayer to good character, is part of living Islam.
3. Who is Your Prophet? The believer answers: My Prophet is Muhammad ﷺ. Allah sent Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as a mercy to mankind and the final messenger. Muslims strive to learn about his life, follow his example and implement his teachings in their daily lives. Loving the Prophet ﷺ means following his guidance and adopting his noble character. More Than Memorisation These questions are not answered successfully simply by memorising words. Rather, they are answered through sincere belief, righteous actions and living according to the teachings of Islam. The stronger a person's connection with Allah, Islam and the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, the easier these answers will be.
Teaching Our Children
Parents play a vital role in helping children understand these foundations of faith. By regularly discussing these questions at home, attending beneficial classes and encouraging Islamic learning, we help our children develop a strong Islamic identity rooted in knowledge and conviction.
At Hijrah Academy, our Aqidah curriculum aims to strengthen these foundations by helping children understand who their Lord is, appreciate the beauty of Islam and develop a love for the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his teachings. May Allah grant us beneficial knowledge, firm faith and steadfastness upon the truth. Ameen.
